Hi all.
still struggling at the moment. does anyone here have problems with their machine making a weezing noise on exhale and inhale. its not a mask whistle as ive tried two masks and the noise is the same. its like a whine from the machine. its super frustrating and makes a difficult process even more difficult. could it be defective or do all machines make some sort of noise on inhale/exhale?
cheers

Resmed Spirit Machine weeze on inhale/exhale
If it is a new machine you should be able to get it replaced under warranty.
The Resmed Spirit name applies to two different models of Resmed cpap - there is the S7 Spirit (sold around the world & now obsolete) and the Australia S8 Resmed Spirit (which could be under their 2 year warranty).
The older S7 Spirit did make a slight whining noise on breath in/out - interestingly the S7 elite with the identical blower assembly didn't tend to make that noise.

If its what I thnk it is, it comes and goes on mine, and seems to happen on exhale. It may be related to using EPR. I run a fan in the room that is about the same pitch and only notice it if I am listening for it. I'm not sure what causes it, but if you can have it checked for free (and get a loaner machine) it might not hurt.
The Spirit (USA model) doesn't have EPR as it was an S7 model. The Aust Spirit (S8 model) does. I am guessing that the poster is in the US & referring to the S7 Spirit (but it is just a guess )alnhwrd wrote:If its what I thnk it is, it comes and goes on mine, and seems to happen on exhale. In the US the S8 Auto was called the Vantage but in Aust the similar S8 model was called the Soirit. The older S7 model Auto was called Spirit all around the world. Resmed did this name fiddling because they have different legal requirements for the US market.
Anyone asking questions about particular models does need to spell out pretty clearly which unit they are meaning and what country they are in as it is soooo easy to trigger threads that talk about entirely different units.
Cheers
