Smart Card Question

Post by GeneS » Sun May 25, 2008 7:43 pm

I am using Encore Pro 1.8.49 and it works well with a Respironics legacy auto cpap. Can I use the same card If I use a different machine some nights such as a legacy bipap biflex auto or Mseries aflex auto. Can I just remove the card and insert it in the machine that I am using on a given night and then move it back when I switch machines again. Will the reports make sense. I would prefer to use the same card with my travel machine so that I have a continuous data record on one card.

Not sure the limitations, What I would do is create another patient and keep the treatment separate. Jim

I don't think it will work the way you want it to. It might work if they are all running in the same mode. You can create different patients but you will have to erase the card when switching machines. I have moved the card between my "M" Auto and my "M" pro but the auto is running in cpap mode with the same settings as the Pro.

I think there is something different between the M & legacy and also think you will have to format when switching.

Try it, if it's not gonna work the card will cause a beeping noise when inserted. That would be your clue to format & try again.

I think the easiest way out is to get 2 cards.

Let us know how you make out.

Good Luck,

No need to do any re-formatting of the card between Resmed devices. And no problem downloading to the software. It will run both in the same Patient file. BUT the software will NOT combine the data between the two devices. You will have to keep note of your dates to get the running tally of data for each device, there will be no running total tally of both devices.

The only thing I ran into was when I was switched from the Elite and Vantage to the new VPAP Auto was that the VPAP Auto required newer software; AutoScan 5.7 and ResScan 3.3 can NOT recognize the new VPAP Auto.

The newer ResScan 3.4 is needed to support the VPAP Auto and whilst I can import AutoScan files into ResScan 3.4 my AutoScan file is too large to do so (daily data since 08 Oct 06). I had to break the AutoScan file into smaller files to import it into ResScan 3.4
