Bought the middle of Feb but I did not try to figure out how to make it work until 2 weeks ago. Yes it is on the original battery about 40 to 45 hours only. The battery indicator still shows almost a full charge. I bought a replacement from Radio Shack (1/2 AA 3.6 Volt 1100mAH Lithium) but I have not put it in yet. I bought the one to see how it worked out before ordering a bunch. When I take it off the little red light in the rubber thimble looks like it is shinning bright.

I have tried moving it around on 4 different fingers. It sometimes seem to run for a while but if it look back at the screen it will not be recording. It will be on with five little lines where the numbers used to be. Then without doing anything it will pop back on with numbers. I tried wiggling the wires and that did not seem to make any difference. I can try the new battery but I don't think the one in it is dead yet. Maybe my skin is to thick to read. I did sand my finger tip in the area of the red light one night and it seem to do better, not perfect but better.

My new battery made a definite difference. I was having problems uploading the data to my PC. Even though indicator said battery fine, new battery fixed that problem.

I had very good luck with SPO Medical on the phone. They may prefer phone since they can do in 5 minutes what could take much longer by email if they have a list of things that could be wrong.

When I had trouble with the software CD, they asked me to ship the old one to Israel (after they sent me a new one) since their QA department wanted to figure out what was wrong.

As I recall, Slinky also had a problem that they fixed without any problem. Perhaps yours is a bad one (eg someone might have returned it to our favorite vendor and they sent you that one. If so, SPO should replace it.

I hope it all works out well for you!

I changed the battery. Got one nights data (thought it was fixed) and then it went crazy last night again. I finally called Greg and he had no answers. Told me to send it back and they would test it ands replace it if it was bad. Said it would take about 10 days. Did get the speal about how this unit was not good for end users. Will see how it plays out.

Thanks for everyones help!

Just curious what was the brand of batteries and the voltage shown on the battery. The reason I ask is there is a much more common lithium battery that is less than half the cost, but it is 3.0 instead of 3.6 volts and would run down very quickly.

I guess I found the answer that it was a Radio Shack 3.6 volt battery!

If "greg" can't fix it, it won't get fixed. DON'T BUY SPO 7500. They do not stand behind their product. I've had better service from a low budget chinese model than from these goofballs.

My experience has been different - excellent service one I got past a medical equipment company I won't name. I've read of others having a good experience, too.

IMHO, we should wait and see how they respond to Jerry's problem before blasting them.

Ric..........

I've had good results from my 7500......but, the first time I used it, I only got a couple of hours data from a full night's use.

Turns out, I had it set incorrectly. Once I learned to set it so that the sample rate was "2-seconds", I got the data I needed.

It needs to take a sample once every 2-seconds.....or, its memory fills up and it stops recording.

I've been very pleased.......my honey uses it......and my neighbor used it a bunch. It's been great for us.

Gerald, I also use a 2-second recording interval based on info from this forum.

I have PM'd and emailed a few on this forum about various batteries for the
SPO 7500.

SAFT
Tadiran
XENO

I just talked with Greg and he says, as far as he knows, they should all work fine. Tadiran just comes with it when they get them.

You can get these batteries as cheap as $2.75 in quantities of ten.
Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

With it set to record 1 second intervals it should record somewhere around 7 to 8 hours to fill the memory. The couple of times I set it for 1 second interval it did not make quite 8 hours.even with the errors. Of course set for 2 second intervals it should give twice that.

Well, that was a total waste. $17.00 to ship and 2 weeks later I got it back with a letter that said that the unit is not defective. No reason why it quits reading. A note to go read the user manual. I will try it again tonight.

Jerry,

Why don't you try the 2-second intervals?

Good luck - I sure hope it works!

I have been using 2 sec intervals since I found out that with 1 sec intervals it won't quite make it 8 hours. Did not make any difference. Did anyone get a user manual? All it got was a orange card "Getting started with your SPO 7500. I do have the help part of the program disk. Could this be what they are calling the "user manual". Thats all I got. Still feels like I am going to break it having to push the button with a ball point pen to get it to go in program mode also. Was in hopes they would fix that.
