By becoming a part of the community, you can learn a lot, most of us have the same or related health problems. Most of us take our health seriously. The more we can learn from what works for others, the better we can help ourselves. Jim

Going back to my Lightweight S6

Post by Capri » Wed Apr 22, 2009 10:31 pm

I used the ResMed Lightweight S6 for 7 years until it was replaced with the S8 Elite. After one year I have still been unable to adjust to the noise and the poor performance of the S8. So now I am back to using my S6 every night and love it. I fall asleep within minutes.

I now only use the S8 before doctor visits to measure my AHI rate to assure the pressure is sufficient. Oh, and as far as setting your own pressure on the S6, there is no master power switch; you just unplug it, press down the keys you're instructed to, and then plug it in. Works just fine. Don't forget to change your filters frequently. I use the ResMed Sullivan Humidaire with my S6, the Cadillac of CPAP humidifiers. I love the technology and software that goes with the S8, the portability ... but I hate how it works for me. Just my [friendly] opinion.
