I'm back . . .

Post by j.a.taylor » Thu May 08, 2008 11:32 am

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted here, but with good reason.

Even though I've been faithfully using my CPAP for almost a year, I was growing more and more tired, having difficulty sleeping, struggling with low energy levels, back-pain, aches in various parts of my body, etc.

My doctor initially thought it was back problems, or stress-related problems because of the nature of my job. He thought that I was a major candidate for burn-out, but test after test came back negative.

Then I started having abdominal pain in the area of my appendix--but my appendix was fine.

So the family doc sent me to a specialist, who informed me that I had a bad gallbladder, but that he wasn't going to take it out, because he didn't think that was the real problem.

More tests, more pain, then my specialist tried to convince me that I wasn't really having pain . . . (and I have great insurance--you'd think he'd want to make some $).

So it was back to my doc with a request . . . Get me a different specialist!

After 10-months of this agony, I saw the new specialist, was told that my gallbladder symptoms were classic, and within a week had my gallbladder removed . . .

I'm now three weeks into recovery, and starting to feel like my old self again.

So now I have the energy to once again drop on by . . .

J.A.Taylor, Welcome back

Wow, what a terrible experience you have had and with all the pain through this year, what a drag

The Doctors always want to label people who are sick as, "IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD"! Now, that really ticks me off

I am so happy to hear that that pain is all gone now and that you did the right thing by going back and asking for another doctor, "CONGRATS"

Rest and take care, we've missed your posts...

Have a wonderful day
SNM/SleepyNoMore

Thank You "SNOREDOG" will live in our Hearts forever...

May you always have
Love to Share,
Health to Spare,
and Friends that Care. :)

Glad you got your gallbladder problem straightened out.

Do you know if the energy loss is a direct or indirect result of the gallbladder problem? I assume a bad gallbladder causes pain, which in turn causes daytime fatigue and poor sleep at night.

Anyway, welcome back!!

WOW!!

This is incredible. I, too, have been feeling out of sorts, tired, not sick sick, but not good either.

In March I woke one morning and felt so bad I went to the er, which admitted me to the hospital. After numerous tests on my heart -- which all checked out okay I was given a gall bladder function test. The specialist that saw me suggested that if I have my gall bladder removed I will feel alot better and my symptoms will drastically improve.

Since I teach school and do not want to miss any more at this time, I elected to put off surgery until after school is out. If I do that I can take a few days to recuperate without feeling guilty.

I hope when I have mine done that I have as good of results as you!!

Carol honey, go make the appointment NOW. If you can live until the end of school, make it for the first day you're free.

I'm so sorry you're still feeling icky!!!!

JA - I'm glad you found some relief!!! It's really been stressing ME out to read you are having problems and nothing seemed to help!!!!!

Hugs all around,
Babs

Okay, not to make light of anyone's problems, but....

Do you think I could convince my insurance that I have a 75 pound gallbladder that needs removed from my abdomen?

Hey, fat chick humour, it's my specialty.

LOL,

I smell a conspiracy. My otherwise healthy 25 yr old GF was in the hospital last week because of similar pains, she was laid out. Agony. Ultrasound looking for gall bladder probs or stones showed nothing, GI specialist - stumped. Still no answer. She compared the pain to contractions, but worse.

On the news, several high school students fell out with the same symptoms.

I have been all over looking at every resource I can find, this pain seems to be common and commonly misdiagnosed. Some think its an issue with gluten.

When we told the Dr. that we had been conducting research she said "you people need to get off Google, medicine is an art.."

UH last I checked it was 8 years of science..

I was an art major, I dont have a white coat.

Babs,

Great minds think alike!!! I have been contemplating that exact same thing!! I am SURE that is what is making me fat!!

Course when I had my female surgery I was hoping it would take some of my stomach fat but it didn't.

Oh well us girls have to try!!

My receptionist just told me she's been fighting a mysterious stomach pain for years. She was in the ER twice this week. I told her to DEMAND SOMEONE LOOK AT HER GALLBLADDER.

Gadzooks people, it IS an epidemic!

Carol, have you seen that 40 pound colon at the Mutter Museum? That could be ME! They just DON'T KNOW until they cut me open, do they?

LOL,
B.
