I lost weight and can no longer use my Hybrid?? Need advice

Post by cindyh » Tue Apr 29, 2008 3:56 pm

I have lost 81 lbs, still more to go, but all of a sudden my hybrid *the only mask i have ever liked* has all of a sudden started leaving terrible red areas which are very sore around both nostrils.. i mean REALLY sore.. I went to my DME who is very nice, and she said my nostrils are too skinny lol. I have the small pillows already, been using them since September, I don't know what to do besides change masks, and I am a mouth breather, so i need FF or i wake up all night. I am allergic to most of these silicones anyway, and wake up with huge red gashes down the sides of my nose with anything, but the hybrid was the least area to touch my face.. any ideas on a new ff? What about the 432? My mom has the 407 and that foam feels good on my face.. thanks

Finally getting "some" quality sleep, I am hopeful now :)

Use one of Rested Gal's tights legs to stabilize the nasal pillows. See here:viewtopic.php?t=14422&highlight=.

Keep going and you may not need cpap at all. Good job on the weight loss.

its not to stabilize the nosepieces, they are just plain too big now and rub badly all around the nostils, cause great redness and sores.. and these are the smalls.. they need xsmall..

cindyh,

You know your situation and I don't. However, I found the "tights fix" stabilized the nasal pillows thereby preventing rubbing and irritation.

Keep hanging in, you will find something that works.

Have you tried their Bravo?
The pillows are the same, but softer. It's very inexpensive.
