Ah, Vanity....

Post by sharonious » Thu May 26, 2005 3:08 pm

I know it is only vanity. My Ultra Mirage is a good mask, one that I am able to wear all night. It's just that right above my upper lip I have developed a discoloration, a mark right where the mask sits. Any suggestions other than getting over it? Thanx......Sharonious, so often erroneous.

Keep the strap loose. Do not make it tight. Or, Get an Activa mask. Its 100X better. Mirage is good. Activa is great !

RoEzit is a cream that was sent with a Snapp Mask I ordered several months ago.

The sample tube I received said: "Non-petroleum based with Aloe Vera, Emu oil, Vit A & E. Formulated to lubricate and soothe dry tissue and abraded skin caused by friction of rubbing objects. Apply topically..."

I did not need it when I used the Snapp, but I do use it occasionally with my Activa Mask. It works.

I never ordered any because I am still using up the sample tube.

It seems as though a fair amount of CPAP veterans "rotate" masks, using at least two DIFFERENT TYPE interfaces that have different contact points, to avoid problems like this.

For myself, I am using the Swift and the Activa, trading off each night.

I am not convinced the human body is meant to have pressure night after night in exactly the same spot without some recovery time.

Of course this is not the cheapest option......
