Is It Possible to Get Too Much Sleep???

Post by TXKajun » Thu May 26, 2005 7:45 am

Ok, after being on APAP (PB 420E, HH, Ultramirage FF mask) for 3 months, I'm feeling bunches better most mornings. I usually try to get about 8 hours sleep each night (from about 9:15PM until 5:15 AM). On the weekends, I can easily sleep for up to 10-12 hours straight. But, I've noticed that some nights when I don't get to bed at my regular time and only get 5-6 hours of sleep (like last night), I feel much more alert and rested in the mornings.

So, I've been wondering for the last couple of weeks whether or not it's possible to "oversleep"?? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I've noticed that too, but with me it's a trade off. If I get less sleep at night, I have more energy in the morning, but I crash and have to drag myself through the mid-afternoon slump. If I get more sleep at night, I don't have as much energy in the morning, but I also don't have to prop my eyes open with toothpicks during the afternoon. I just can't figure out a way to get both the early morning rush, and survive the afternoon with no more than a few yawns.

No - never can get too much sleep. What you are doing is paying off your enormous sleep debt that you have accumulated over the past several years. Sleep if your body needs it aand as your shedule allows.
