Hey, I know we all love to labrat things, but I'm a busy gal, and cruising all my internet chat rooms takes time away from my sewing projects.
Anyway, in the quest to find the Ultimate ChinStrap / HeadGear, I've been hunting around and discovered there's really alot of headgear options out there.
If your mask is giving you fits - contemplate changing your headgear. It might be more headgear related than you might think. I know I have such a hard time finding something that will stay put, and not slide off my hair, or leave marks on my face, or give me a headache.
Our lovely host has a myriad of options, but there are also other vendors online who carry different products. I was quite suprised to find out that Tiara Medical puts out a whole line of "Soft Caps" in crazy fabrics for those who just can't keep straps in place. I'm seriously contemplating the lace one... Look for Tiara "Fungear Coolcap" when searching.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that tidbit with you newbies.
And for those following my Saga of the Ultimate Chinstrap/Headgear morph.... The BreatheWear Halo stitched to the baseball cap is OKAY, it works, but I don't really like the chin cup on the BW. That hole in the center bugs me. And the baseball cap continues to slide around a bit. Anyway, now I'm thinking of getting this:

And attaching the Sullivan chinstrap to it. And the NAII to that, of course.
Of all of them, I like the Sullivan's chin cup the best.

Alternative Headgear
Okay, so the Denim Adams headgear came yesterday:

This is a great little cap! It would TOTALLY work for a Breeze or Headrest, as well as the Adams and the NAII.
It is is very adjustable, both around the forehead and over the crown. Very comfortable. Better than a baseball cap - since it has more adjustability, more venting area (doesn't completely cover the crown) and incorporates some elastic to make it more comfortable.
I attached my Sullivan Chinstrap to it, and then attached my NAII side hoses to the chinstrap. Very comfortable night. I'm still getting a little slippage front and back because of my slippery hair, and the fact that this cap doesn't have a lower strap to stabilize it, like the Topaz Chinstrap has.
The Topaz stays on me very well, but I just can't tolerate that Neoprene on my skin, hence my search for something else.
Anyway, if you're contemplating something else for headgear, look into this. It's a little pricey up front, but honestly, I think anyone could copy it pretty easily. I just prefer not to have one more sewing project on my list right now.
Cheers,
Babs

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.
