Smart Card Save Data or Erase tweak

Post by Guest » Sat May 21, 2005 10:19 pm

There is a registry change you can make using regedit that will enable a prompt asking you if you want to erase the data from the SmartCard. IF you say No, you can accumilate data on the card and download it again, if you say Yes it will download the data to the database then automatically erase the card. By default the version we have didn't prompt you until you made the registry change.

Using RegEdit

Try this trick (it's HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE..RetainDeviceData) and it works?

I think the key was Erase Data Card and changing the hex value from 0 to 1.

Only do this if you are comfortable with RegEdit

I think you can do the same thing by activating a file that is in one of the program folders, under "utilities", that show up when you install the software. Then a pop up asks you each time if you want to save the data.
It changes the reg for those that don't like to mess that deep into their computers directly.
