Bi-Level Titration Accomplished!
Thanks, ColinP.
Nah. I don't wanna be a doctor. I'd be a LOUSY doctor, impatient, etc. Just the kind I don't like! And I'd be ordering every test I could think of just outta curiosity. Think of the poor patient oing thru some of the really unpleasant procedures just to satisfy my curiosity. Poor blokes!
HOWEVER, I would be DELIGHTED to have RPSGT after my name and the knowledge and training that "title" implies in my head!!! But then I would want SOME way to gain access to every xPAP out there to learn how each one worked and what options if offered and what it was capable of. Does that mean I'd have to add the RT "title" and have the RT knowledge and training in my head too??? Whew! That's a lotta training and knowlege I'd have to gain somehow! And then I'd still be lacking EXPERIENCE which in the end is the best teacher and training of all. *sigh*
If ONLY cpaptalk and the folks here had been around 10-12 years ago and I had found them back then! *sigh* IF wishes were horses .....

I sometimes toy with the idea of going for sleep tec training, but am put off by the night duty. Night duty sucks. Big time.
but mainly I'm writing to say -
Way to go Slinky! So glad you had a good titration and your tec did the right thing by you too!

W T G slinky! I'm so glad you made it through the night.
About the Sleep Tech training, I asked here at Kaiser in Oregon from what the RRT I deal with says is all in house training (Probabably have to take the BRPT's certification tests after the in house training), and to become a RT it's a two year program at our local Community College. I'm working on finding a way to fund going back to school, since I can't get any more financial aid, and training to be an RT.
If you decide to go back to school I'm sure you'd be an awesome sleep tech. Then if you wanted RT, you could pay for going back to school by doing the Sleep Tech job...

If you or you and Slinky had your own sleep lab I'd fly far and wide to get to it! That you are sixty-something is a plus! My naturopathic doctor is 3 years out of school and has a few 'how to build relationships,' 'how to relax into being a professional,' and more issues. I picked him because he comes with the latest and greatest knowledge and enthusiasm (which is something even sixty-somethings can have : )rested gal wrote:Great report, Slinky! . . .
About the job market for mature people embarking on a new career.... heheh. Well, since I'm in my sixties, too, and just as fascinated by "sleep" as you are, Slinky... maybe we should go back to school together! We might have to start our own sleep lab, though, when we find no place would hire newly graduated sixty-something'ers:
"Senior Sleep Lab"
I'll put cots in the unoccupied kennel runs.
By the way, new avatar looks great - nice haircut. I changed my avatar for a short while and got so many PMs to return to the monster that I decided to change back. I may post a new one again someday - now that I am not on the board as much probably nobody will care. : )

Slinky...
Obviously I miss many important threads... and finally found this one. Congrat's, and with RG's spot-on details and suggestions... I'm sure you'll do well.

And GASP.... I've been missing that "purdy" big eye.... stop back often.

Oh dear, I reread my post and see that it could be taken as if I don't post nobody would miss me : 0 I feel so welcomed and thoroughly a part of this forum : ) And, thanks for your comment!!! What I meant was, if I change my avatar, nobody would miss my avatar but rather the new one would be accepted.
Thanks Nodzy : )Nodzy wrote:...And GASP.... I've been missing that "purdy" big eye.... stop back often.
