Should CPAP.com Sell Neilmed Sinus Rinse Products?
Howdy CPAPtalkers,
Should CPAP.com offer Neilmed Sinus Rinse products and if so, which ones?
http://www.neilmed.com/
I received some samples recently (no Neti Pot though). I have a cold and plan on trying them out tonight.
I'll post back with my findings but wanted to open it up for community input.

It appears many on the forum use the Neilmed rinse and it would be nice to be able to order it, especially if one was purchasing masks or other items from cpap.com they could just add the Neilmed in the order.
Start Date: 8/30/2007 Pressure 9 - 15

These products are readily available at many stores. It would probably NOT be a big seller. BUT...I know when I place an order on cpap.com I try to get at least $100 for the free shipping. Having these products available would help bring me to that $100 mark.

I would agree with Brenda... they are available in most drug stores here, but it would be handy to 'make up' an order so it totals over $100 and therefore qualifies for your free shipping offer. I doubt it would be a big seller on its own, though.

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
For me personally, I have no found the nasal rinses to be a positive thing. They do have some good effects, but they always seem to leave me prone to more sinus headaches.
I haven't figured out why, but I don't use them except when I have extreme problems, because of the outcome.
Nonetheless, I know they are popular with some among the CPAP set, and since some people associate them together (I first heard about such things here on CPAPTALK a number of years ago), it might not be a bad idea, if it doesn't cost a whole lot to add.
I think from a business standpoint, it probably doesn't make sense, it's too low-end an item for people to order from you except when they're already ordering something large (a mask or CPAP machine, perhaps, or new headgear/hoses that they can't easily get elsewhere).
So it really all comes down to how much you'd have to invest in stock and whether you're willing to have it sell fairly slowly. I'm inclined to think that I'd order it from you while ordering other supplies that I CAN'T get just as easily at my local drug store or even Wal*Mart, but if I wasn't making such an order, I'd probably just buy them locally.
My two cents.
Liam, who prefers the term "nasal rinse" to "nasal flush" to avoid the toilet imagery.
P.S. Johnny, regardless of whether you do this or not, I (and hopefully I speak for all of us) really appreciate everything you do at CPAP.com.

I've only used the Squeeze Bottle. The Neti Pot seems like a real pain in the neck and just doesn't make alot of sense to me.
Yes, I think you should carry it. But I don't think it will be a big seller - given that it's so cheap and readily available in local drugstores. I do think newbies might buy it, and it's always handy to be able to point folks to you for items.
One thing you MIGHT consider... Posting a page of products you recommend people check out, but that are readily available at their local drugstore. Like NeilMed Sinus Rinse, or 3M tape for mouth taping.
Of course, that's not a revenue generator, and we've pretty much done that here on the forum, so...
LOL,

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got...
I fairly much agree with others although I should hasten to add that lately I've given up the packets and just use salt since it's so easy (faster, really than opening the packets!).
I do know that I look for "stuff" to get my order over $100 if I'm close anyway.

Yes, it is a saline product. It has a special squeeze bottle that makes nasal lavage very quick and easy. There are pre-measured packets of salt with (I think) a tiny bit of baking soda.

I agree with others that it might be nice to have it available so people could get over the $100 mark for free shipping, but it wouldn;t be something that people would flock to the site to buy on it's own. About the shipping to Canada, Sharon....I know I have ordered things from other US companies that are offering free shipping, and they always say that sorry, the free shipping is within the US only..

I think carrying NeilMed Sinus Rinse is a great idea. I use it regularly . I cannot seem to find the pre-mixed packets, WalMart or Walgreens here do not carry the refills, I prefer the pre-mixed to making my own. I think you may be surprised at how many people would purchase this product. There are many people who visit cpap.com from other forums and elsewhere that would be prone to buy it as well as folks from here on this board. And there are many who have never heard of it that would like to try it. I use the squeeze bottle. But there are a lot who prefer the NetiPot.
Thank you Johnny, for always being caring and considerate of all of us and our needs. And for all the things you have done for us on this board.

I would say absolutely. The product seems to have helped many people here and is part and parcel of the quality of CPAP therapy many are receiving.johnnygoodman wrote:Howdy CPAPtalkers,

Same holds true for Cpap.com ,it's probably the Duty folks at the border that spoil this for us.About the shipping to Canada, Sharon....I know I have ordered things from other US companies that are offering free shipping, and they always say that sorry, the free shipping is within the US only..
And as stated earlier it is readily available up here were the ground is white.

Liam,
Do you DRY your sinuses out after using nasal rinses? I suffer with many sinus headaches and have found it absolutely necessary to do the "whale blow" after to dry up the excess saline. If I don't, I get the sinus headaches.
I used to use the Grossan irrigator, but for this cold season, I ordered a 16 oz. stainless steel neti pot from an eBayer who imports them from India. Excellent investment, easy to keep clean and super easy to use. The fastest and least messy way to irrigate. I have excellent results and highly recommend it.
