Which nasal pillow rigs WON'T make you bald?
I'm not terribly vain but I'd like to keep what little hair I have left. What's considered a follicle forgiving nasal pillow set up?

Surely you jest... what stone tablet did you find where it is written that nasal pillow systems cause baldness?

Nearly all headgear, on all mask interfaces can cause rubbing on the hair and hair breakage. I've experienced this on two masks (both nasal, although I don't think the interface itself is to blame) I switched from the regular headgear to a mesh cap like the Softcap sold on cpap.com.. For a nasal interface it might take some modification and "jury-rigging" but it is doable.
I know there are lots of people out there who do not experience this, but I used to have very thick hair on one side of my head in particular and it got very thin, while using regular headgear. The Breeze headgear was breaking hair off down my midline. Since switching to a mesh cap my hair growth is returning to normal, so I don't think this is coincidence.

Well, as you can see from my profile pic, apparently all CPAP masks cause baldness in me, even before I knew I had apnea and started using them.
They're evil. We should do away with all of them, and maybe my hair would come back.
Liam, smooth as a baby's butt.

As a follically alternately-abled nasal pillow-using gentleman myself, I have not experienced any alopecia areata which may be directly attributable to the aforementioned nasal pillow setup. Due to its hard pate-plate, I would expect the Breeze to be more apt to em-baldify one than the kindler, gentler affixation mechanism of the ResMed Swift.
And why do I get all snotty and snooty when publicly admitting I'm a baldy? Defence mechanism? I don't know...

hair friendly interfaces
My current favorite is the Infinity HC481. It will not interfere with your hairdo, although I confess I changed the strap out for a flatter one. This interface might not be good for restless sleepers, and it took a little getting used to, but I really like it. It's the easiest to pack in a suitcase also. There's essentially no headgear.
