Apria bought Star Medical RX for its XPAP customers...

Post by dllfo » Sun Feb 24, 2008 7:07 pm

I got a call from a nice lady asking if I needed any CPAP supplies, AND she said she was from Apria. Luckily the defib unit was charged and the EPI-PEN was on the table next to me.

She said she would be calling us monthly to see if we needed any supplies. I asked her why they couldn't just let me set up an "automatic order" and she said she didn't know why.

Since I got my supplies from Apria last month, I guess this is recent. She said Apria told them the people needing oxygen took up so much of their time they could not service their CPAP customers well. There is an understatement.

SO...if your local Apria people don't return a call, google Star Medical Rx & ask them if they have your file.

BTW, my items aren't here yet, so I will reserve judgment, also, I asked the nice lady a question about Medicare criteria: Medicare says I am authorized two Nasal Pillows per month, but Apria is only sending one -- how come?
She says Medicare meant two nasal pillows. The Swift II uses a pair, they are just connected. Has anyone confirmed that?

AND -- if you need oxygen equipment, etc. she said to call Apria as usual.
Cross your fingers, Apria may be on the road to improvement.

I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

You may have to tell her you need one set for each nose. Jim

This week I ordered, two ComfortGel inserts, A HH Tank for the "Classic", And ultra Filters for Remstar.

I got two ComfortGel inserts, A HH Tank for the "F & P", And headgear for a mask.

Getting a shipment from them is like Christmas Morning, you never know what will be under the tree. At least this time the packages weren't opened. I guess they ran out of used products.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that call. I was told by Apria, that I was on a monthly call back too. They called me at the 6 month mark, to let me know that they would be calling monthly to see if I needed anything. That was over a year ago and I haven't heard from them yet.
I did order CL2 nasal pillows from them. Got adams circuit pillows instead(Apria insisted that they were correct for the CL2 mask). Returned them and was sent an optilife mask, returned it and was told that they will no longer supply just pillows and have to get a whole new mask(I might have settled for this if it were the correct mask)! I'm entitled to new pillows every 3 months and new mask every 6 months. I filed a complaint and with in an hour I got a call from the local branch saying they will supply the correct pillows every 3 months.
Here is the number I called to file the complaint;
1-800-310-3363
Just tell them you need to file a complaint. They take all the info, and notify the branch you deal with immediately.

Ha! My original (sheister) DME supplier doesn't even carry any parts or pillows or cushions. Its a new mask w/headgear in 6 months or nothing. At least until I pulled out my Medicare list w/HCPCS codes and frequencies. Then it only took them 3 weeks to order the new nasal cushion. Unfortunately, it took me 13 months to get rid of that sheister DME supplier.
