Since some of us think that the missing data may be some kind of firmware bug, if you download everyday and then erase the card every day you *might* avoid the bug. It certainly seems to reduce the frequency but we don't yet know for sure if it gets around the problem.
But if you erase the card, how can the doctor use the card to check your numbers?
I mean, I know I can print out the info and bring it to him... but isn't part of the benefit of the card the ability to bring the data to your doctor so they can download the data to THEIR computers and keep track of your progress?
Hi
Most Doctors probably do not have the software or the card reader. In any case I would rather have and record detailed data on my PC than lose it because of saving compliance data for doctor
I think most doctors are are surprised to even see a printed report.

I agree - I don't erase my data for several reasons: 1) so my sleep doc can see my data and 2) to me it's not worth the hassle for on occasional missing day or two.
Some do care, however, and some don't see their sleep docs or their sleep docs don't check their data. So there are many different views on this issue and there's no reason there shouldn't be options.

Yes, deerslayer - for me the missing data always seems to happen when I make a change and want to see results!
Patience is definitely a virtue when dealing with the missing data bug

Hi Mindy
If you are tracking detailed data you need to uncheck keep compliance data each week thus "erasing" your card

I've never unchecked "keep compliance data" - and I rarely have missing data (about once very couple of months I miss a day or two due to the M-series bug). So why would I uncheck? I get all the detailed data without doing that!!!

Hi Mindy
Does your card overwrite itself ? After about eight days my setup stops recording detailed data if dont clear the data.

Ps It may be that if you do not set the option under preferences to prompt each download erases the data which is of course still available from the saved report

SleepDeprived,
No, I have my options set to *not* erase. The card overwrites itself after a week. Earlier I used to miss days almost every weekend. Now it hardly ever happens. The only thing I can think of that's different is that I'm no longer sleeping 8 1/2 to 9 hours. That's just a guess - could be anything.
