DME and Sleepiness scale

Post by Joffive » Wed Jan 16, 2008 2:10 pm

Hi all,
I am waiting for the DME and got to wondering if it's normal for him to ask me to fill out the Epworth sleepiness scale like he did last time? (I think that's what it's called)... Anyway, I thought that would be more for the doctor's office to do, no? Please straighten me out if I'm wrong...

He's probably testing to see if you can stay awake long enough to fill it out.

At my Dr's, the nurse weights me, asks a bunch of guestions on how things are going, then I sit in the room alone until the Dr comes along, If I'm still awake when he gets there, he knows I'm OK! He's never caught me asleep, before XPAP, I would have been. Jim

My sleep doc has me fill it out... it's part of the check-in procedure. My DME doesn't have me fill it out (when and if I ever see them... most times I just talk to them on the phone about once or twice a year).
