I'm an assistant professor at a Big 10 university. I have a nine-year-old who plays baseball and I love going to his games. My family is from Hawai'i and there I loved snorkeling and marine conservation work. Since we moved to the Mainland, gardening is my passion. I have to admit that my asthma and other respiratory problems have just started since we came to the Mainland five years ago and just today my son was diagnosed with asthma, so I am wondering about whether the environment here is part of the problem...

I don't understand asthma, it's a mystery to me. But it seems to be a mystery to many as well. This link doesn't answer any of my questions about it either. But I thought I'd provide it anyway.
