Low cpap pressure with C-flex or A-flex?

Post by Edgeguy » Tue Jan 08, 2008 4:15 pm

I have a pressure setting of 7 on my remstar plus (constant pressure) and was wondering if this pressure lends itself to C-flex or A-flex or are these overkill for my pressure?

I would like to move to the smaller m series machines but wonder if C-flex and A-flex are neccesary.

What would my settings be for C-flex or A-flex?

I am going to my doctor next week and if he writes me percription for a new machine I would like to tell him the specifics so I get the correct machine the first time.

Thanks

Unless you have a serious lung problem you shouldn't need A-Flex or C-Flex at all w/a set pressure of 7 cms.

HOWEVER, if your doctor will "go for it" the A-Flex or C-Flex feature could come in handy in the future if your pressure needs go up. Even tho these xPAPS usually come w/only a two year guarantee most last well beyond that. 10 and 12 years not being all that unusal. Most insurances won't pay for a new one in less than 5 years except in case of proven medical necessity.

On the other hand, it might not be worth the battle to try for an auto the way xPAP techonology is improving by leaps and bounds in a matter of just a year or two.

The important thing is to get a complete machine that records data and uses software, then you can control your treatment. It can also use, A or C/Flex. Jim
