Hello there,
I had my first sleep study done a few days ago. Apparently my score is 6.2
The doctor hasn't interpreted it yet but I was told that over 6 is usually treated. (I am suppose to go in on Monday May 9th for my 2nd overnight and will be called only if I do not need to go) I have not been able to find info on the internet about scoring sleep studies and what specific numbers mean.
I am curious about the objectivity of a sleep study and wonder if I went to 5 different centers if they would all get the same result. Any thoughts on this?
Provided by insurance will cover the machine after my $100 deductible I will definitely seek treatment if the doc who interprets it feels it is indicated. I figure I'll know if it helps as I never get a good night sleep now and would be very grateful for a good night sleep.
I just have a need to know and plan on going to the hospital and accessing my own record. I would just like to know what it is I am looking at.
Thanks, Beth

Hi. I wish I was an expert on these things, but I'm not. It seems sleep studies use hard data to come up with your score. Please click on:
