How to interpret first night's stats?

Post by neversleeps » Wed May 04, 2005 10:39 am

My first full night on REMstar Auto w/CFlex and HH using the Ultra Mirage FF mask produced the following results per Encore software.

Flow leak: 1.3
Obstructive Apnea: 3.8
Hypopnea: 3.6
Snore: 30.3
______________________
AHI: 7.4

I realize 'snore' is skewed due to mask vibrations, as I often woke up to noise and had to do some adjusting. So I'm not too worried about that figure (yet). My question is regarding the number of events at each pressure in my range of 7-15, and the APAP statistics.

At pressures of: 7,9,10,11 my AHI was approx 7.7
At pressure of 8: AHI 10.6
At pressure of 12: AHI 12.4
At pressure of 13: AHI 3.4
At pressure of 14: AHI 5.0
At pressure of 15: AHI 5.4

Auto-CPAP Mean Pressure: 10.7
Auto-CPAP Peak Average Pressure: 14.8
Average Device Pressure <=90% of Time: 15.0
Average Time in Apnea: 5 mins
Average Time in Large Leak: 12 minutes

While I'm waiting to hear from my DME, who knows even less than I do, if these stats were over a period of a week, would this indicate my current range of 7-15 should be changed to maybe... 9-16? I'm try to find out if I understand how to use this knowledge correctly...

I realize: The information provided on this site is not intended nor recommended as a substitute for professional medical advice.

I'm just curious how the rest of you with this software would interpret this data.
