Krousseau,

That is a really good point about the preservatives. I do use "Simply Saline" on occasion, which has no preservatives. I had a feeling the preservatives were bothering me because whenever I used regular saline rinses (with preservatives) I always got way MORE stuffier. Kind of defeats the purpose!

I will look into the salt packets, because I think that type of bottle would work better for me, so Thank You.

Sharon....

In regard to how deviated is my septum... My current ENT didn't think it was all that bad that it needed surgery. In his words..."I've seen worse". Whatever that means. But the previous ENT I spoke of, years ago told me to schedule a date for surgery for it, but I was too scared of him after the electrical cauterization experience. So who do you believe?

Up until this cold, I feel like I have tolerated CPAP wonderfully, so my gut feeling is it's O.K. for now. I think the recent bleeds are just from this cold.
But I'm doing better.

Everytime I read your posts, I think we must be twins. I think there must be so many symptoms that go along with sleep disorders, (that we don't realize or associate with OSA) because we hear familiar sounding symptoms over and over that we can relate to....i.e. fibromyalgia, etc..

That's a whole other thread!

Thank you all for the tips!!!

Gail

well in that case, i would just slop on the ayr gel and try the nasal rinses
glad you're feeling somewhat better, though
