Smart Card Error

Post by jrfoster » Thu Dec 27, 2007 7:45 am

I woke up this morning to the RemStar Auto blinking all 3 lights and not being able to shut it off. The code in the window was C-30-1. The only way I could shut the CPAP down was to unplug it.

I know the error code C-30-1 refers to a smart card error. I replaced the smart card with another one and everything is fine. A few questions; 1) What does the code C-30-1 mean? 2)Can the card be fixed? 3) Was the CPAP giving me the prescribed pressure while the lights were blinking and the error code flashing.

Thanks for your help!

Jeff

Here's the error code definition: "C-301 SMARTCARD_BAD_UIDB_CHECKSUM Card is corrupt and should be reprogrammed."
You might try reformatting the card, that might fix it. You can do that with MyCPAP Card Utility, a free program. Available at http://www.mycpap.org/
My guess is that your machine continued to function normally--hoping one of our experts will chime in here to confirm.

Jeff,

I made a post about this recently when someone else had a similar problem.

I am going to purchase another back up card. I tried downloading the card utility program, but I cannot get it to run. I click on the desktop icon and nothing happens.

Guess a new card is not that expensive to have around.

Thanks to you and Den.

Jeff

Jeff,

The program will open ONLY when you have your card reader plugged into you computer (with the card inserted into the reader).
