My first thoughts about your struggle with the cpap treatment are attitude, attitude, though correct as it is, the help you will get on this forum is where it is at, read, read the posts, very few of us were lucky enough to after one month say this was a snap, no discomforts, no pain from irritations, etc, etc. I personally am stubborn and felt others are succeeding why can't I, with the help of the people here with all their experiences I some how remained compliant.
I wish you success, good sleep, and seeing you on the forum.

Like some others here I found that the ramp feature actually hindered me getting to sleep. My apap is set for a pressure of 8 to 12. The ramp has it starting at 4 which is too low for me.
I guess I owe the first DME a thanks as when I picked up my machine of course instead of the prescribed apap I was given an M series Plus machine. The DME set the pressure to 10 and had the ramp set at 8. I got used to having it start at 8 in the couple of weeks that I had the machine.
I switched DME's and now have the correct machine. A setting of 4 for the starting ramp is just too low -- feels like you aren't getting any air.
You may want to follow the suggestion of trying without the ramp.
