CPAP Mask Refunds

Post by Guest » Fri Dec 21, 2007 3:02 pm

I need some help here. I read in a post the other day about Respironics (I think) refunding the DME's for used masks if they have one turned back in. I had never heard of this and neither did the guy who does our ordering. I have had several patients exchange their barely used Comfort Gel mask because they did not like them and I was wondering about that policy. I con't exactly remember who posted it. It was in response to someone else's post. I think it was Wulfman or Dreamstalker but I could be wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I feel really dumb for not knowing this policy, so please help!

It is my understanding that if a patient tries a CPAP mask and returns it before 30 days you can call and get an RMA and they will send you a new one. You have to pay to send it back. They do not replace the comfort classic however. Resmed and Respironics both have this policy. You would call the same number that you would to send a CPAP in for repairs.
I hope that helps.

I highly doubt that it was ME. I've heard of it from reading the forum, but all of my stuff has been purchased from CPAP.COM, so I wouldn't have related to it from personal experiences.....and I don't recall ever posting that a person could do that.
I'll let DreamStalker speak for himself.

Thanks for the help KansasRT. I am still learning the ropes here for DME and Home Health. Sorry Wulfman. You and Dreamstalker were just the first and only two to come to mind. Could be because I read so many of you guys posts. Maybe I will remember later or can find the original topic I saw it posted in. Thanks agian for the help.

Yep, and while KansasRt has posted about those returns in the past, I"ve also had a couple of RTs who've dropped into Chat say the same thing. In fact, I thought it was just Respironics and Resmed but one of the RTs in Chat said Fisher & Paykel does too so I was just repeating like a parrot (I'm partial to African Greys).
