encore pro questions

Post by dav3502 » Fri Dec 21, 2007 12:50 pm

Hello all,
I recently had the opportunity to use a remstar m with c-flex and the a-flex model. i have reports for two seperate nights using both machines. The a-flex showed my AHI as 3.7 while the c-flex had me at AHI-5.7

I have a few questions...I am using a swift ii nasal pillow and the avg leak shows 35.00 does that seem right??? While using the c-flex it showed a leak rate of 49.00 but I was using a comfort curve that night.

Interestingly , my AHI went down with the a-flex but it reports more snoring events...
pressure 6 = 18.1
pressure 7 = 2.4
pressure 8 = 10.5
pressure 9 = 2.6

the c-flex numbers\
pressure 7 = 1.9
pressure 8 = 3.0
pressure 9 = 1.8

just thought i would share this information because its very interesting to compare both numbers with the two seperate machines...

Overall the a-flex has the better numbers and it felt extremely comfortable...Any comments would be appreciated..

Recently titrated for a 13 setting and machine is set between 6 and 13...

My reaction is that your "evaluation period" is WAY too short to do any comparisons.

A Flex and C Flex aren't making your numbers change, it's the other factors, Masks & Leaks. It easy to draw the wrong conclusions, our needs very every night too. You can only see the truth in averages, and then only when one thing is changed and practiced for 4 or more days. After a while you can see trends in the results of what your are doing.

Make changes too fast, and you end up chasing your tail. Jim
