When the pressure needs to be set higher to eliminate apneas but the stomach will explode from aerophagia if the pressure is set any higher. Roll on your back to ease the aerophagia but increase your apnea events.
Between a rock and a hard place.
My machine doesn't have EPR or any of that fancy stuff...the best I can do is to ramp up..which I do sometimes. It seems like the first hour or two is always the worst for the aerophagia. If I can wake up an hour after going to bed, sit up in bed and belch out everything I swallowed the first hour then typically I don't have near as much of a problem.
Your profile shows that you have the S8 Vantage.....an Auto/APAP.
You stated you're using it in CPAP mode.
You SHOULD have EPR in CPAP mode on that machine.
I'm not saying that EPR would help.....sometimes turning OFF exhale relief works......and then sometimes it doesn't. I was just wondering. If you can turn it ON.....you might try the settings and see if any of them do help.
