Need to find out where I can get software for downloading

Everyone has been giving me great input about whether I need to be able to download software to be successfull. I believe it has. Now I am trying to find out what software and cable I need to access it.

I don't think that machine records data. Or if it does, it would be only hours of use data...no useful information at all. Software would be of no use for that machine.

The reason I thought it might have the capacity to ownload is the following information I copied from the manual for my machine.

Compliance Maximizer Software (Usage recording software)This software is a performance monitoring technology, that records and reports on machine usage
Benefits: Customizable reporting formats and content are available for better therapy monitoring.

PC Titration Software
Software that allows sleep technicians to titrate remotely via a PC in their labs.
Benefits: Titration is made more convenient for lab technicians as all patient data can be observed on the same PC screen during titration.

I know what you mean, shardebhow, I remember reading those recently.

However, compliance tracking in not really necessary for us, and it's not too useful if has no event tracking info accompanying it.

And titration software is good for sleep labs, and may let a sleep tech change the pressure remotely as you sleep - but that doesn't meant event data is saved on the machine for you to read when you wake up.

Cpap users need the following to monitor their own therapy:

1. A machine that identifies breathing disruptions
2. A machine that records those breathing disruptions and saves them for at least some days
3. Software (and hardware) to move that data from the machine to the computer
4. Software to read the data and present it to the user in an understandable format.

Respironics has software and machines like that
Resmed has software and machines like that
Purtian Bennett has software and machines like that.

I'm afraid the Fisher & Paykel software is good for DMEs and sleep labs , but not for cpap users who use cpap on a dialy, er, nightly, basis for their health and want to track their ongoing therapy.

Bummer. Thanks for your input. I like my machine and was hoping that maybe it did have the download data capacity. Do you happen to know if I am able to convince my Doc that I want that type of machine, I would need to return my current machine??? And, how long a window I might have to do this? It would be nice to have both machines so I can see if what I am currentlu using is doing the job. I am not in the position to pay for another machine out of pocket.

How long have you had your F&P Sleep Style 600? Most insurances are NOT going to pay for more than one xPAP in a 5 year period UNLESS the first one has been entirely paid for AND your doctor has determined you need an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TYPE of xPAP such as going from a straight CPAP to a bi-level.

Your best bet, if you insist on wanting to keep your 600, is to wait out the period for it to be completely paid for by your insurance and meanwhile check into buying a good, lightly used fully data capable xPAP via craigslist or cpapauctions or even by keeping an eye on the classifieds in your local newspaper. I've even read of one person who got a great buy on a fully data capable CPAP at a local garage sale.

I'll ask my doc when I see him for my follow-up after the first of the year or I may call my tech who works with the doc before then. I've had my equipment for about a month. The other thought would be if there is a smaller unit for travel that might have the data capabilites. It is really so overwhelming.

Shardebhow, YOU are RUNNING OUT OF TIME, if you want to exchange your SleepStyle 600. Those first 30-45 days are CRITICAL for upgrading to a fully data capable xPAP!!! Much beyond 30 days it becomes a battle you will most likely LOSE!
