Chart Somewhere To Check My Stats Against?

Post by BrnEyez » Tue Dec 11, 2007 9:33 am

Now that I have figured out how to get data from my machine (thanks to this forum and not Doc-In-A-Box) is there somwhere that I can check my stats to see how they compare with what should be good stats? I found nothing at ResMed, I was not given a manual (have asked for one) with my machine and internet searching has not come up with anything so far.

I've been reading previous posts to try and discern information but I find it confusing, to say the least. As you know from yesterday's post I am trying to get my PSG results from Doc-In-A-Box and then I will have something to compare them to. But what are good numbers?

If you've got 'em, go ahead and list them in this thread.
AHI less then 5.0 is considered "normal".
Mask leakage depends on your mask and pressure. The lower the better.

Den

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

These are what I got when I pushed buttons for "day":

Press 10
Leak 24L/s
AHI 2.0
AI 0.3
HI 1.7

Thanks Wulfie

Looks pretty good to me. I'm not sure about the leak rate, though.....maybe somebody else that has that mask can comment.
Was there a user manual that came with the mask? There SHOULD be one with a graph in it showing the "Vent Flow Rate" at various pressures. If it's in L/m then you have to divide by 60 to get L/s. And, also, you want to make sure that the mask setting is correct in the machine. Mouth-leaking is not allowed, either.

Leak should be 0.24 ... not 24.

If it is 24, it is way off the chart and your other numbers are likely suspect.

If is indeed 0.24, the leak is probably a bit on the high side but likely still within reason.

I'll check for a manual on the mask...or I'll download one. I know that when they gave me the new mask (nasal Aire) that the machine did not have that choice so they picked "Swift" and said "close enough". I use a chin strap and wrap Johnson & Johnson Hurt-Free Wrap around my mouth.

Typo Alert.

Leak .24L/s not 24L/s

As they say...missing a period indicates trouble.

Surf the recent NAII threads here. Jerry just posted the Leak Rate chart in one of them.

I'll see if I can find it and get back to you.

Found it. It's on Page 4 of the thread "Nasal Aire Questions". See Jerry's post. He put an image up of the Mask leak chart for the NAII.
