My nose hurts so bad

Post by Eleena » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:34 am

I woke up at 1:30am to awful pain inside my nose. Out of frustration and pain, I took the mask off and went to sleep without it. I know, bad idea. I have been using ayr saline nasal gel but it isn't helping at all. Before I go out and spend alot of money on a bunch of different things for the nose, could somebody recommend something? Also, I have never used a humidifier. Would it help for this? Thanks everybody!

Missy

If the comfort classic is your current mask ... the problem may be with insufficient humidity ... turn up your HH.

Thanks Dreamstalker! I had a feeling that a humidifier would help. I will buy one as soon as I can afford it. Missy

Try and get yourself a Fisher & Paykel HC-150 if you can ... you may be able to find a relatively inexpensive one at auction

http://www.cpapauction.com/

I have two of them ... I bought my back-up on e-bay for $35 + $15 shipping ... brand new in factory sealed box.

Until you can afford to get a humidifier for your machine may I suggest that you raise the humidity in your house. You don't have to spend a lot of money on one -- a big pot with water on the stove will help some. If you can afford a small cool mist humidifier like what you would use if someone has a cold can be a help. You can pick these up fairly cheaply at WalMart, etc. If you have a thrift store in your area they may have some used ones that you pick up for just a little.

A bottle of Ocean Saline Nose Spray can help as well. Use it several times a day to help it heal.
