I need advice from the PRO's!
Hi EVERYONE I have a question, as you know I had my Double Septoplasty, Turbinate Reduction, and Bone Spur Removal (on both sides) 9 days ago. My ENT Surgeon isn't a sleep doctor and dosen't really know what to tell me when I ask him when I can start using my cpap machine again, he just said I think "tomorrow" that would of been 7 days after surgery. My nose is sooooooo sore inside & out , I can't touch it feels like someone BROKE IT ouch, and I have to wear a kleenix folded very small on the bridge of my nose in order to tolerate my glasses at all! I use the Swift 11 and have the remstar auto set on 4.5/20. Even before they broke my nose, the nasal pillows made my nose & the bones in my nose sore , all you pro's out there have any suggestions as to how I could possibly RIG something up to get some air in my nose without the tight pain that is involved, also, I still have some packing in my right side that the doctor left in there (that was the most deviated side) and it seems to be wayyyyyyyyyy back in there. I haven't felt much air in that side, it feels just like it did BEFORE SURGERY! Also, my next appt. isn't until 2 weeks from now , I was thinking the packing is gonna mold & rot ... Any thoughts on what I should do about my therapy? Thanks kids

Six (6) weeks minimum before you can place anything on your nose, even longer if you can handle it. How long does it take for a broken arm to heal? That is how long you need to wait unless you want to screw up your surgery outcome (and you don't).
Sleep on your side, sleep in a recliner, elevate the head of your bed with bricks, anything but avoid putting anything on your nose.
When they fix your nose, they chisel the whole thing off, take it out the nares and grind away on it. Heck I woke up while they were chiseling mine off, had to point to the needle taped to my arm so they could give a another squirt of the GOOD stuff.
Chew a PecidComplete each night before bed (the berry flavored ones taste the best), if GERD causes you to have more events that should reduce any.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Hey Bobby, you are right! Rooster is using the FF mask! And as usual, THANKS for the much needed advicewabmorgan wrote:That's the problem.... my ENT said you have to keep weight off of there.
The BONES have to HEAL.
Full Face might be OK.... if you keep the weight off your nose.
The F&P oral interface might also be ok.
I would ask your Doc.... follow his/her advice.

How does someone wear that????
Just seems it would drive me nuts to have the air running over my entire face, especially my eyes.

Could you use an oral only mask and tape your nostrils? I would think if you try to use a nasal only mask (or pillows) that the packed nostrel would cause too much air through the clear nostril causing problems.
I have no experience with this, just throwing out an idea.

Sleepy is the doctor any help on this? He should be aware of how important it is for you to be hooked to your machine -- on the other hand you sure don't want to damage your new nose!!
