What software should I purchase?

Post by EdAPAP » Sun Nov 25, 2007 8:31 am

I notice some forum members use Encore Pro and also see Encore Viewer available online.

Which should I purchase and where will I find the best price?

Encore Pro has been pulled by Respronics and is not to be sold to the patient any longer. Reason given was that you could change you pressures, etc. by recording a change in perscription. Has gotten fairly hard to find. Encore Viewer was championed by our host and is available to the patient. It gives the same data, just does not let you change the settings, you have to change them manually. It also won't let you erase the card but that can be done with mycpap.com utility. Data can be saved to a Adobe print file. The only thing I dislike about the viewer is that without a stored data base it won't work with James Skinner's Pro Analyser which reads a bit more information and is easier to follow.

Price is about the same from most online sellers and is available from our host at cpap.com. I have see a couple of copies up for bids on cpapauction.com that were a bit cheaper but the last one went off a day or two ago. You will also need a card reader and 2factors.com is the cheapest place for that.

It sure helps tweek your therapy. Good luck.

Jerry

EncoreViewer is the software for a Respironics machine. Be sure the machine you have records full data. If the Respironics machine has "Plus" in its name, it cannot record full data, even if it has a Smart Card stuck in it. The only thing a "Plus" records onto a Smart Card is hours of use (compliance.)

As 6PtStar said, you can't change the pressure settings through EncoreViewer. But that doesn't matter at all. You can change all the settings by using the buttons on the machine itself.
