Again to get an actual tally please vote the closest answer:
VOTE TWICE IN A ROW _ IT DOESNT TAKE ON THE FIRST TRY FOR SOME REASON - YOU WILL AUTO VIEW THE RESULTS ONCE IT TAKES

I use mine as passover, distilled water. I never take it apart, just swish it out with tap water and refill with distilled avg 4 days. Used to take it apart, when I was new, then it cracked. The new one has never been opened. Jim

If it gets too dirty, I'll hide my "Weapons of Mass Destruction" in it.

I voted every other month because there's no option for...."when I notice stuff growing in there."

I wash it when I think about it. Per advice on this forum I don't take it apart. I fill it with warm soapy water and swish it around then rinse.

My old one I cleaned about every week or so but after a while the O-ring wouldn't seal it anymore and it started leaking.
I've had the new one in for about 4-5 weeks. Don't clean it. Just top it off every evening. If I need to clean it I won't take it apart just use soapy water and some vinegar and rinse.
I get a new one every 3 months if I ask for it, so I try to have a spare laying around.......

cheers

I started to clean mine every week, I was developing a cough and didn't want to take a chance of it getting any worse

I have never washed mine per se ... I just rinse it out every two or three months with water. Since I use distilled H2O exclusively, my HC150 reservoir stays very clean. Even when I do rinse it ... it does not look or smell dirty and I rinse it just for good measure.

I use distilled water, and I rarely clean it. I don't use distilled when I'm traveling, and I usually clean it after I get home. Only once did I see a bathtub ring in there. Otherwise I can't tell the difference between before and after cleaning. I think all this obsessive cleaning is overrated! I do rinse my Swift pillows under running water every morning.

I've mainly used the humidifier tank (and base) from my original Pro 2. In the 2 1/2 years I've had it, it's NEVER been apart. I only use it in pass-over mode and only use distilled water. After a few months, if I let the water get low, I'll dump the remainder and rinse with hot tap water and then refill with distilled.

I also have three complete units (PAP machines and humidifiers) and one humidifier unit is still wrapped in plastic and unused.
