TRANQUILITY QUEST 7300 RESPIRONICS CPAP

Post by sleepycarol » Sat Nov 24, 2007 6:31 pm

Has anyone had any experience with the TRANQUILITY QUEST 7300 RESPIRONICS CPAP?

Do they provide any information at all other than compliance (if even that)?

Would it make a good back-up machine in case I would need one in case my apap went down?

Does any one know how to program in the settings I would need?

I figure this is a bottom of the barrel machine as it doesn't even appear to have c-flex but thought it might be a good back up machine.

Thanks Goofproof!! I had found the link you listed before I posted on the forum and didn't see the date on it until you pointed it out and I went looking for it!!

I think I will pass on it although the price is only $65.00. My apap is only a couple of months old and should be good for sometime yet and is still under warranty.

The 7300 is an old model It went out of production about three years ago. It is basic and durable. It has a higher maximum pressure than just about anything available today, nearly 30 cm. No download, no easy breathing technology.

Find a "Tank" APAP or Pro 2, with cflex. Jim

Yah, this is the machine I started on 7 years ago. Did the job until about 2 years ago when the bearings went out on me. Not a very long life in my opinion. Anyway, that's the point I decided to move to APAP and have been very happy with my S8 Vantage.

ResMed S8 Vantage EPR Autoset (10-16cm H2O)
ResMed H3i integrated Heated Humidifier
ResMed Swift Nasal Interface- Medium

8 years and going strong!

I passed on it and didn't buy it. The cost was $75.00 but the lady couldn't tell me anything about it -- although supposedly she had it for a back up machine and "there weren't many hours on it". Didn't know what pressure it was, how old it was, nothing. I know that many people aren't as aggressive about their treatment as many of us on the forum but I would think you would know your pressure at least.

I kind of suspect it was picked up second hand and she was passing it off as hers. I don't need a piece of junk and was afraid that is what I would end up buying.

Carol,

Just a few tidbits of info on the Tranquility series of machines.
(I have the service manuals)

There were (at least) 4 main models in the series.

Tranquility Quest - Models 7300 and 7300H
Pressure range is 3 - 20 cm. Altitude 0 - 7,000 ft.

Tranquility Quest Plus - Model 7400
Pressure range is 3 - 20 cm. Altitude 0 - 10,000 ft.

Tranquility Auto - Model 7410
Pressure range is 3 - 20 cm. Altitude 0 - 7,000 ft.

Tranquility BiLevel - Model 1700
Pressure range (EPAP & IPAP) is 3 - 20 cm. Altitude 0 - 7,000 ft.

The Quest and the Quest Plus manuals had dates from 2000.
The Auto and BiLevel manuals had dates from 2001.

Den

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I have noticed that it sold -- hopefully whoever purchased it can use it and find what they need to set it correctly.

I have wondered a few times if people purchasing off from eBay KNOW that the pressure needs adjusted to their prescription or if they just take it for granted it is at the pressure they need.

I am so glad I found this forum and take an active role in my treatment!!!

Thanks.
