First of all... stop shouting. Stuff that is written in all caps online is considered shouting. We all heard you.

Second of all, because your machine doesn't allow you to see or record any data, there is no way of seeing if your setup is even working for you. So, you'll need to either speak with your DME or talk to your doc about getting a trial of an Auto, which would probably be the Vantage in your case in order to find out if your pressures are right or you are leaking or what the problem is.

However some people take awhile to not feel sleepy... but some people feel well right off the bat. It's just kind of hard to tell when you have no data to back it up.

Glenwood, if it is any consolation my first 30 days on CPAP were the WORST sleep I had EVER had! After that things started improving slowly. HOWEVER, since you are feeling no improvement after 5 weeks its time to contact the doctor who ordered your equipment and tell him/her so.

And here's the way to approach that doctor.

"I'm not feeling any better. I'm sure you are NOT aware that the DME supplier gave me a bare-bones CPAP that can't give you the data you need to see WHY I am not sleeping better and what adjustments you need to make to my therapy to improve my sleep so will have to be making any adjustments by guess and by gosh. I assume that you would prefer to have adequate data and I would really appreciate it if you would re-write my equipment order for a fully data capable Resmed S8 Elite instead of the Resmed S8 Compact. I will feel much more comfortable knowing that you will have the necessary data to help me get more and full benefit from my CPAP therapy."

How are you doing w/the Mirage full face? Are you having any problems adjusting to it? Any sore spots or bothersome leaks?

Women are Angels. And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly.....on a broomstick. We are flexible like that.
My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.

Wish we could know the answer to that question--it varies for all xPAP users. Some feel better almost immediately, for others it takes weeks or months. And some say they never feel better. Slinky gives good advice here--need to see your doc, and you need a data capable machine that will let you know what's going on with your therapy. I was "issued" a non-data capable CPAP machine initially, just didn't know any better. It was many months later when I found this forum, got a data machine and realized that my apnea events were "nonresponsive" due to inadequeate pressure. Now I monitor my therapy and get excellent results.

Good luck!

A lot of the the "recovery" process depends on how long you've been living with this condition and what other damage it's done to your body. Some people see pretty quick results, but (I think) for the vast majority, it's a much slower process.
For those who have non-data-capable machine, it's a matter of having to rely on the accuracy of the sleep study and the doctor's prescription.

Either "hang in there" till things start feeling better......OR, get a data-capable machine and the software to see what's going on while you're sleeping.

Best wishes,
