help to lower hypopneas

Post by soulfixinman » Wed Nov 21, 2007 6:42 pm

I am using a Respironics bipap auto with biflex, my AHI is normally between 3 and 5, leaks are not an issue, but then every 5 to 7 days I will go up to say 6.5. I am set for auto bipap at 7 to 18.

My encore charts look like I sometimes have many hypopneas and that seems to be what triggers the higher AHI

I am thinking about raising the lower pressure.

Any other ideas to lower the hypopneas ?

Were you ever titrated ?

A smaller range around your titration pressure might be helpful.

Also avoid back sleeping and try using gravity to keep your tongue from falling back and blocking airway

my last titration study stated, I was titrated to a final pressure on bipap of 12/6. at that pressure my AHI was 16.6 events an hour.

I only slept for 2.6 hours out of 7.6.
