APAP MAX Setting?
APAP MAX Setting?
Okay, just wondering why one would not set the APAP max at the max, 20, since the machine automatically senses and delivers the pressure needed to deal with events. I know I need not set the minimum too low, below my prescribed titration, but don't really understand why you would need to limit the maximum pressure. Still learning . . . thanks!

For me setting the apap at the highest lead to the machine chasing snores. It would just stay at the top pressure most of the night. I have better numbers with it set as cpap on 9.5.

Too high a pressure can cause central apneas
Using the M-series auto w/C-Flex and James Skinner's Encore Pro Analyzer I have graphs to show that I have higher AHI at 8 and below and at 11 and above. My lowest number of hypopneas occurs at 8.5 and my lowest number of apneas is at 9.5. So I have set my range at 8.5 to 10.5. In fact I start getting nonresponsive apneas at 12.
