Where does Respironics ABiPAP get Time and Date From ?

Post by LittleRedTruck » Fri Nov 16, 2007 1:52 pm

I cant seem to find anything in menu to update either time or date in machine. Yet in encore reports it seems to know exactly what time things occur! With Daylight savings changes, how does the time get changed! Maybe a little Gremlin in green stockings sneaks in and messes with the machine. Thanks Dan

The machines are set at the factory to GMT (internal clocks) and then the data is adjusted to your computer time zone when you download it. Most of the PAP machines lose time over a period of months and the only way they can be reset is by sending them back to the factory (through the DME).

And, twice a year, your time line either has a 1-hour gap or a 1-hour loss of time due to the time change.

Yup, I don't think Respronics can even spell TRUST! Obviously we the users are to much trouble, we want things right. If they could figure out how to sell their machines with out patients they would be happy.
