I have tried three different units (CPAP, APAP, and VPAP Adapt SV). While the last one is providing me with a better sleep, I am still suffering from air ingested during the night. So, my first hour or two in the morning can be painful as the gas makes its way out. Some nights are better than others, but in all cases I ingest air. The severity of the stomach aches seem to also correlate with how dry has been my mouth during the night (even with the humidifier). I wear a full-face mask.
I contacted my respiratory expert and asked her opinion re chin straps. She indicated these really will not help me, and that she has basically seen people abandon PAP treatment due to it. I really don't want to do this. My complex apnea was rated severe.
Do you folks have an opinion or experience with ways to reduce mouth breathing?
Thanks for your comments.

I would suggest that you go up to the Search function (above) and search on the words "aerophagia" and "GERD". There's lots of reading material on those subjects here.

If you've read any of those posts, you'll see that there's no specific cure for everybody. For some it's shutting off C-Flex or EPR or changing the settings, for some it's lower pressure and for some it's migrating to Bi-PAP machines (among other things).
I've never experienced it, but from reading the forums, it's a fairly common occurance among users.

The higher the pressure the worst it is for most. Sleeping on your back will alleviate the amount of air ingested but will probably worsen your apnea. You might try putting your machine on a lower pressure for the first 45 minutes of sleep...that helps. Otherwise I can't tell you it goes away. I still get it but have learned to make sure when I wake up in the night I sit up for a few minutes to get some of the air out.
