hi. I just had a split study and am very concerned. My first showed an AHI of 43 w/ 100+ arousals over 2.5 hours. So, cpap of 9 pressure was figured after titration. However, AFTER they left me at this "ideal" pressure, i STILL had an AHI of over 7??? shouldnt it be removed fully or bring me back for another full night titration study? Even more concernins is that i still had 100 arousals during 3 hours and 40 minutes. M rera index went up from 15 or so pre-cpap to almost 25.. so, even though CPAP should "Cure" me, i have an AHI of 7 and REra of 25.. that gives me total arousal/resp disturbances of 30 per hour.. oy... am i wrong or is my doc off base?
Rera after cpap- use this
You need to go into your profile at the top of the page and fill in the equiptment you use, than we could better suggest help.
The ndata off the LCD can be misleading, also if you use a nasal mask you could be leaking your treatment pressure from your mouth. Many do.
The only way to tell for sure is to have a machine that collects useful data and the software and reader to make use of it.

There's nothing wrong with a CPAP machine, if it provides useful data that you can download. A Remstar "M" Pro, does data cheaper Remstar models don't. It would make senseto only take one that provides treatment data downloads, the LCD screen data isn't enough. You might contact them and see about getting the machine you want, your going to be using it. Jim

Doesn't sound right to me at all, but there are a lot more educated folks around here, so hopefully someone will come along with some good insight.neillebo wrote:I just had a split study and am very concerned. My sleep study was a full night, and they kept moving my pressure up until they got rid of all apneas, all hypopneas, and most of the RERA's. They stopped at 9. (I'm at 8.5 now, with my doctors knowledge, and when I occasionally move it up to 9 to see what happens, the data isn't that much better, so I leave it at 8.5 most of the time.)
Sorry I can't be more help!
Pam
