It's never too late
It's never too late
As long as your still above ground, it's never too late. I have had sleep apnea for about ten years, that was when I quit smoking. Gained weight, started snoring, after time had problems staying asleep. Falling asleep at my computer and at the wheel really got my attention. I was at my ENT having my ears checked before a diving trip and the sleep problem came in the conversation. He said I may have sleep apnea and will schedule a study. Three months, several doctor visits, two sleep studies, and some minor surgery to open up my nasal passages, I am on my third week of CPAP. Got a good one I think, REMstar plus with C-Flex and built-in humidifier. Based on a friend at work, I was expecting instant results, but that did not happen. My changes have been more gradual, I quit falling asleep at the wheel and getting up several times in the middle of the night, maybe a little more energy. The transparent things are blood pressure and dying in my sleep. Any improvement over what I have been going through the past few years gives me an attitude boost. Even the people with mild cases should re-consider getting the CPAP in the closet. IT can save your life.
