4 nights down

Post by napper » Tue Apr 26, 2005 7:28 am

I have successfully made it through the first four nights with my trusty bi-pap machine. Woke up and changed masks on the first night but since then I have slept through the night. I am now using the first mask suggested during titration. It's a Simplicy; ironically, it's the mask that made me the most claustrophobic when I tried it on but now it's the most comfortable with it's lightness being it's best feature.

As far as energy - I feel better than I have in years. So much so that people have commented on how good I look. (Which out weighs how I look in the middle of the night with mask and head gear in place.) I know it's too early to tell how well this will work, but I'm very happy to have a non-chemical treatment for this problem. I urge all new users to self-advocate, finding a doctor, a clinic and appropriate DME that will help them embrace the treatment that can so profoundly effect their lives.

On top of it all my insurance company has been great, picking up 100% of all the costs! (Actually, it makes me nervous when an insurance company is this generous but I'm not going to argue.)

You may have to change your name

Way to Go Napper. Its two weeks for me and I feel better, but it sounds like you feel alot better. Keep it up.

Howard

P.S. May I suggest that when you are ready you change your name to "The artist formerly known as Napper"
Hoping someday my kids will call me "Howard the Rested" instead of "Howard the Grumpy"

Napper,
It is great to hear your feedback on this. I am new also and will be getting my equipment today! I am little nervous, but I am sure it will be great to sleep and get some sleep.
