My machine does give a breath by breath report. Mouth leaks on my machine are never massive leaks. They are plateaus of larger leaks, still within the machine's acceptable leak range, That's when my mouth had dropped open, and air is rushing out of it. The worst part for me during that kind of mouth leak is that eventually, my tongue literally sticks to the roof of my mouth - and then when I move it, as we do when asleep - it's extremely painful - the pain wakes me up and can remain for many hours.

If the open mouth session hasn't been that long, I just feel my mouth very dry in the morning.

Now, I don't think this means you get therapy during mouth leaks, but - at least on the machine I know - a 20 minute long mouth leak session would never appear as a major leak, nor would it appear as a spike - though may change the average leak slightly.

So how do you know your mouth leaks? If your mouth is dryer that it's ever been - you're mouthleaking. Massive leaks are "mask seal leaks" as far as I can tell

Regardless of the size of the leak, once the pressured air is going out of you mouth instead of into it, you don't have enough pressure to fight the obstructions - and your therapy is (so to speak) gone with the wind... With the pressure blowing out of your mouth an automatic machine can't identify an obstruction since the air is flowing smoothly - in a different direction.
