Learning to love a full face mask.

Post by SleepyGuy » Sat Apr 23, 2005 3:02 pm

I thought I could never get used to a full face mask. I'm a little claustrophobic and I had a ComfortFull mask. I disliked that I sometimes had trouble getting it off.

I then got a Ultra Mirage Full Face mask. The clips are easier to disconnect in a hurry and it has an anti-asphyxiation valve that lets you breathe room air if the machine goes off. Both of these helped my claustrophobia. I started using it about ten days ago. My goal has been to slowly increase my time each night. Last night I got 4-1/2 hours with it and I'm definitely feeling better.

I've been struggling with nasal masks for several months, but could not use them successfully because my nose has a tendency to close up in the middle of the night. I had scheduled surgery to open up my nose, but I think I will cancel that.

it wont be long and you will hardly know it's on!!! But at first it kinda freaks you out when you wake up and panic the first few times it's on
