As long as you don't turn the heated humidifier on ... the flowers should do just fine.
CPAP- Should I turn it into flower vase?

Den, that is too funny!
RG, Would you consider putting this post somewhere like under mask fitting tips or help for new cpap users. I saved a copy to print out in the future, but it is very good and comprehensive.
The DME mask fitting person is clearly out of her depth. I have an 82 year old relative that got a script for the mask she used during her sleep study. It was one they don't usually carry (I think they normally only carry respironics masks). The DME woman who came to fit her had it leaking like crazy. My relative just waited till she left and worked with it herself until she got it leak free. My theory about your DME is that they don't like to vary the masks much because they are only capable of figuring out a few of them. It's pretty widespread, no?

Rosemary,
That "fish tank" was first posted by Derek (the author of MyEncore) about 2 1/2 years ago and if you check the properties of the picture, it's linked to and still resides in his files on his server at MIT.
I know Snoredog has used it in some of his posts, too.
It's always been one of my favorite pictures from this forum.

Great discussion here. And you're right. It's the mask. I have no problem with the blue lights, the slight hum, the air (since I switched to total FF). I just CANNOT stand it on my face. I can't sleep on my back. I have always been a belly sleeper. I can doze on my side. One hot flash and I have to tear the mask off. I'm burning up and the last thing I need then is a mask on my face.
I'm ready to start HRT, cause life isn't too great this way. I'm in week four and I have slept worse in the last month than the last year. All CPAP has done for me is minus one to two hours of the little sleep I get. I am up every two hours (one with the mask) and I just don't know what to do.....okay, wipe my tears...I have a doc appt. Thurs.
Thanks for listening.

Skits,
Look into some of the nasal interfaces. I use a Fisher-Paykel Infinity (not a best-seller), and if I route the hose to the top of the headboard and hang my face off the edge of the pillow, I can sleep on my stomach. The only challenge is that to switch sides, I have to get to the other edge of a king-sized pillow. I really should invest in a smaller pillow.
You have to get a little creative to find what works for you. Hang in there, it's worth it!

Thanks from me, too, Rested Gal! I copied your response to my folder of CPAP hints as well. You're one of the biggest reasons I'm doing so well with my therapy, and I can't thank you enough. (Wulfman, Gerald, Slinky, Linda, Blarg, Dreamstalker, Dreamseeker, and Snoredog - gratitude and love to you guys too!)
Good luck, Writes4me. Stick with it - keep your eyes on the prize, and you will find answers to your questions here.
Take care,
Cathy
