I don't actually have a problem with the pressure (it's set at 5 and I've seen it at 7, 14 being the max). It's more the problem of the weight and pressure of the mask and the fact I can't sleep on my stomach....but I keep thinking in time........thanks for the response tho....I need encouragement!

Worrying about not falling asleep and the work you have to do tomorrow is realy a vicious cycle, and a non-supportive spouse must make it even more difficult.

It not about sleep - its about breathing, being choked when you sleep, starving you body for oxygen.

This therapy is impotant for your health for the quality of life you'll have as you grow older.

Is there any way for you to take time off from work so you could afford not to sleep so well while you're adjusting to sleeping with a mask on your face? If you had broken led, and had to stay at home for a while without stepping on it - you would, wouldn't you?

Also, try not to think "I have to sleep, I have to get used to this, oh !@#$ when will I ever get used to it, I'm not yet..." when you go to bed. I was in that catch till I told myself:
1. I want this therapy
2. These noises and weird sensations will not go away - they're here to stay.
3. I am not "too sensitive" to get used to this.

I couldn't use the mask for reading or TV (too short sighted for that) so I just tried to imagine pleasant things. And I did not think: Am I asleep yet? Am I used to this already? I also did not look at the clock - something I learned to do years ago - now watch or clock in the bedroom - I use a closed cellphone as an alarm on the rare occasions I need one. The alarm still works when its closed.

It helped very much to have a more comfortable mask and to dangle it from a hook in the wall above my head, and to put a protective layer of gel on the nasal pillows - and a different pillow (for my head).

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.
