Clock Set on Respironics Machine?
Clock Set on Respironics Machine?
Does anyone know how to find the clinician software necessary to reset the time clock on the M Series Auto CPAP with A-Flex? I was told today by CPAP.COM that the only way the you can change the time on the machine is for a clinician to reprogramthe smart card.

I've looked all over the software and the clinician's setup, but see no way to do this. CPAP.com says a clinician must do this--do they have access to different/more capable software than do we? At any rate, I suppose it's not critical--just have to add three hours to the reports to calculate real time for me. But, I'm just one of those people who like my clocks set to my time zone.
Maybe someone knows of a utility to do this through the card reader.

Looks like we'll just have to live with this, then! Oh, well, at least the machine works well.
The XPAPs aren't clocks, no need for them to be, K-Mart sells clocks for under $10. To set the clock inside a remstar, it has to be sent to the factory, when you get it back it will still creep wrong, as it's not a timepiece, and never was meant to be, your computer won't keep time either, that's why it has to be set to update the time off the net.

Here, this issue is not the clock for "telling time," the issue is the incorrect time on the reports generated by Encore. Like you, I use my clock radio for telling time. I know that the ResMed software provides this simple feature, to set the time so that the time reflected in the reports is accurate, I predict that Resporinics will fix this oversight in a later version of Encore.
Computer clocks loose time only if the internal clock battery is weak--I've never seen that happen since my machines never get that old, but I've known this to be an issue for users of very old computers.
Actually, Respironics support states that the clock may be set via the SmartCard, but that it must be set by a technician/provider using a more feature enabled version of the software. The factory setting you refer to is simply a default. Users should be able to do this.

In Encore Pro, preferences, system settings. I don't have the stripped version so I don't know what it will do. If the start of day is wrong it splits the night. Jim

We don't even need software to change the clock on our Resmeds. *gloat* *smirk* Just a couple of button presses.

Encore Pro
Yes, I just saw that the Pro version has this feature--of course, I've just got the "EncoreViewer" stripped down version.
Thanks,

Serious question
IIRC the data on the LCD has to be viewed befor noon --
If the machine is 3 hours off - what does the mean for you ability to read the data from the LCD?

on the M series they added the bright blue projection LED's to display the time on your ceiling, just never got around to putting a clock chip in the machine to make use of that light.
The machine is set to GMT at the factory and it is off-set by your PC when you download from the Smartcard and that is the date/time that appears on the reports.
I would suggest writing down your bedtime (for most of us that is pretty much the same time every night) then use the therapy hour increments on the reports to determine what happened and when.
The 420e is the best at keeping time, it keeps track of every event, you can click on the tic for an apnea and it will tell you when it occurred. You can also set it via your PC.
But the 420e doesn't have AFlex.
