Innomed makes the Nasal aire II. How could you not know Innomed. They have had a handfull of distributers. I think the Nasal aire II is a better product than the Swift. That's the trial I want to see.

But it seems like because I have such a big head that the straps are pulling out the side connectors that hold the stopper and tube in place. I am thinking that even with the tape that it will still pull out. I am constantly having to push them both back in.
Funny - I NEVER had that problem with my Swift - I have the same problem with my Swift II that I got about 2 weeks ako - I also never had a rainout problem with the swift, but do with the Swift II. So far, the ONLY things I like about the "II" over the original - 1)It's not all beat up (hte head strap was failing on my original and 2) My wife likes that it doesn't blow on her

How about duct tape? hahaha I'm just picturing some of your masks with tape and velcro and panty hose and clothespins and chewing gum.....
Great idea about the plummers tape. I'll be sure to get some.
I'm using a Swift pillow and haven't had too much trouble. The air coming out all the vents bothers me sometimes. In the summers I love sleeping with the windows cracked, so I can hear the frogs and other nightsounds. It makes me sad that I just can't hear over this. I'm pretty sure its just the air coming out of those holes across the pillow.
Its been great listening to all of you and how you've figured out how to deal with the leaks. Thanks!

Mirage Swift II

Post by hoseheadbob » Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:23 am

I just started on the cpap last week ,but anyway the guy who delivered it and showed me how to use it recommended not taking it apart at all. He told me to wash it in one unassembled piece weekly. I also tried the F-P Opus which is very similar to the Swift. The snorkal thing has a 360 degree pivot which may come in handy. However it seemed to be a bit noisier. Damn those leaks!

I've had the leaks problem as well with the Swift II. The teflon tape did stop a good amount of them. I also wrapped the tape around the air tube where it connects to the mask, and around the stopper. This seemed to help the most. The other thing that I found is that if the straps are not too tight, it works much better. I probably have the leaks down to about 1% using the tape and loosing the straps. Still this mask is not as good as the Swift Mask I.

I just got the Bravo mask to try out. Not as quiet as the Swift masks, but seem to work ok. I did have to use the large pillow cushions instead of the medium ones. The Bravo mask is also a lot heavier than the swift, which if you roll a lot while you sleep is a bit of nusance. The mask is also not as quiet as the Swift masks.
