In my case, I was lab titrated at 7cm and self titrated at 9cm +/-. This study does not seem to correlate with my experience.

Are you pleading guilty?

To the charge of "practicing medicine without a license"?

Dr. Wader, I presume.

My Doc precribed the auto I have... so no foul on my part. This proves we are all guessing, even if we mave an M.D. after our name.

I know right away if the pressure drops too low, you kind of get a "feel" for it after a while...It's not rocket science like they try to make it sound.

Meister, thanks a ton for posting that link. It may cause me to change my APAP usage a little. I was watching my Aps, Hyps, and Snores, and assuming that my "optimal" pressure was to eliminate those. My titrated pressure is 8 and my 420e nearly always stays at my min pressure I've set to 6. This morning, I reset my min pressure to 5.5 and was going to try that. Now, I'm thinking of experimenting up instead to see if I can get the Flow Limitation runs lower (although they've been creeping down pretty well lately).

The line that made me think was:
A pressure setting that eliminates snoring and apneas/hypopneas will be lower than a setting that prevents flow limitation on the nasal pressure cannula signal
Hmmm... Although I feel "pretty good" these days, maybe I'm not getting all I can out of the therapy by just eliminating Hyps, Aps, and snoring. My AHI has been well below 1 since starting APAP and my snores are below 1 as well. My flow-limited runs are more like 7.3/hour, so maybe raising my min pressure closer or to my titrated pressure of 8 will help that. Arghh, the pressure!!

loonster,

You wanna take this outside? Are you insulting my manhood because I only have a titrated pressure of 8??? Maybe I'll turn everything up to 20 tonight just to prove I can take it!

I'll have you know that on my Remstar, I have C-Flex turned Off! How's that for tough?

(It's really because I can't take the whooshy-whooshy sound ).

Well foggy brain, I have mine set in reverse. It sucks air instead of blowing it. Take that with a grain of pepper!

You guys are all a bunch of wimps. I'm gonna hook myself up to an air compressor tonight at 90 psi... That whistling sound will be me rocketing across my front lawn!
