Trip from Prague - Pack in new gloves?

Post by ozij » Tue Oct 09, 2007 2:11 am

I'm back from an extended weekend in Prague.
I had no problem at all in getting the cpap and mask bag through security in Israel (my point of departure) and was concerned about what would happen in Prague in the Czech Republic.

No problem - except that the screener stopped the screening and started fumbling in my cpap bag - with gloves that had seen better days and probably more that one round in the washing machine. My request for new gloves was not understood (English is not that widely spoken there) and once I noticed how the gloves looked I knew understanding would not have helped anyway. Eventually the screener, got part got my point, took his gloves off, and went for the... headrest's seal - it was Okayed immediately, but I guess that on the screener's screen (...) that wire in the seal looked like some prong for gauging out someone's eyes...

Maybe we should carry along a pair of extra clean gloves for those places in the world where gloves are single use gloves?

Used local tap water in the humidifier for the 3 nights I was there - and noticed the beginnings of a sediment layer when I washed the humidifier at home. I had no problem getting rid of it, and would use tap water again if it were for 3 -4 nights - not more.

Absolutely no problems otherwise. And Prague is as lovely as they say.

Don't know if it would make a difference in your situation, but I've taken to sealing the hose and mask and other accessories in ziplock bags before putting them in the carrying case.

Just a thought.

I have traveled extensively and would pack only the cpap in it's carry bag and the mask and hose would go in my luggage. This cut down on the inspection and in most cases they might only peak in the bag or pass a swab around.
