Copy Respironics Smartcard

Post by SleepyPete » Thu Oct 04, 2007 2:04 pm

I have the Respironics Encore Pro software and would like to know if there is way to copy the Smartcard. I'm concerned the current card will fail soon since I have pulled out probably too many times. I would like to transfer the existing data to a new card.
Thanks.

I take it you have removed it over 100,000 times, that makes for a busy nite.

The XPAP writes to the card, if the card wears out, order a new one from CPAP.COM. The XPAP you put it in has the same wear, as does the reader, CPAP.COM can replace it all.

You would have to write a program to read out the data and write it to a new card. The easyest thing would be download it to Encore Pro and save it off as a .pdf file. Jim

If you've downloaded the data, it really doesn't matter if it's erased because it's on your hard drive in the database.

How long have you been using your machine and smart card?
I've been using the same one all this year and haven't had a single "hiccup" with it. (that's probably at least 280 times this year of inserting it into machines and cardreaders)

Extra cards are relatively cheap. ($10.00 from CPAP.COM)
It's always good to have a spare.....or two or three but card "failures" are pretty rare.

Unlikely, what makes you think that?

The mycpap.org smart card utility can do exactly this.
